As we all navigate our way through this COVID-19 pandemic, there are plenty of ways we can help to support our local businesses to keep going through the tough times, plus give us all the occasional well-earned break from home cooking! Halls Gap

Grampians Wine Cellar
Owner Simon Freeman was just about to open his shop when the COVID-19 hit. For now, though, he’s taking orders for his range of mostly local wines – including a good selection of Best’s – beers and spirits and delivering to surrounding areas. Email grampianswinecellar@gmail.com for free next-day delivery.

Harvest
While their café is currently closed due to the pandemic, Carly and Richard are preparing a selection of their signature home-style meals to sell through the Grampians General Store in Pomonal, open daily, 8am-6pm Monday-Saturday; Sunday 10am-5pm. Spirit of Punjab

Halls Gap General Store 
On Grampians Road you’ll find Halls Gap Licensed General Store. Pick up your groceries and you can also stock up on our Best’s Dolcetto, Rose, Chardonnay, Bin 1, Riesling and Pinot Noir and other essentials. Phone (03)  5356 4287.

Halls Gap Hotel
Our favourite local hotspot is now offering ‘take away food and booze’, date night dinner for two special, lamb shanks with a bottle of Best’s Bin 1 Shiraz, $65, Friday and Saturday 5-7:30pm, pre orders for collection 03 5356 4566. Keep up to date with their menu on Facebook.

Ararat

Ararat RSL
While sadly, the club is closed for now, its restaurant is offering $5 home deliveries (with no minimum spend) of food and a small selection of beverages from its regular menu. Open seven days, 11am-2pm and 5pm-8pm. Phone (03) 5352 2794.

Horsham

Cellarbrations
This mega-bottle shop is open for business as usual. Note that certain limits may apply on purchases over the coronavirus lockdown period. Open daily, Monday-Saturday, 9.30am-8.30pm; Sunday, 10am-8pm. Phone (03) 5382 6581.

Great Western

Great Western Hotel
Open seven days a week as a drive-through for takeaway food from its usual pub menu, plus wine and beer. The kitchen is open 12pm-2pm and 6pm-8pm. Phone orders (03) 5356 2270.

Dunkeld

The Royal Mail Hotel 
The Royal Mail Hotel has teamed up with Great Ocean Duck and put together a duck degustation with a selection of wines paired by their expert sommeliers. Meals change weekly (and sell out fast) and all will include the Royal Mail’s legendary house made sourdough, whipped butter and all the trimmings of a 2 hatted meal. Apollo Bay

Great Ocean Road Brewhouse
This popular meeting spot has had to close its normal business operation for now, but the Tastes of the Region is still going great guns making ready-meals to pick up, as well as drinks and a range of local produce to keep the pantry well stocked. Open Sunday-Thursday, 11am-7pm; Friday-Saturday, 11am-8pm. Phone (03) 5237 6240.

La Bimba
A firm favourite with locals and visitors alike, La Bimba is now open for pre-ordered pick-ups and deliveries (to Apollo Bay and Geelong only). Avoca

Avoca Hotel
While it’s closed for drinking and dining in, the bottle shop is open and you can order pick-up food from its Avoca to Go menu, including some tempting desserts! Ballarat

Lola 
Lola restaurant at The Provincial Hotel is now offering ‘Lola at Home’, a selection of home-delivered or pick-up meals to heat up now or freeze for later, ‘iso boxes’ and a ‘Lock-in’ selection of takeaway local wines and beers, including a good selection of Best’s. Table 48 is offering takeaway and delivery for their delicious Italian cuisine. From 12:00 – 15:00, 17:30 – 23:00 with weekly isolation specials, check their Facebook page for the current special.

Wine Bank on View
Match your Greek feast with a bottle of something local and delicious, including a selection of Best’s wines. While the kitchen is closed for now, the bottle shop/bar is still open for business Monday-Saturday, 9am-6pm. Phone (03) 5444 4655.

Goldmines Hotel 
This favourite is running ‘TAKE-HEAT-EAT’ Specials, such as seafood bouillabaisee for two. Great with some crusty bread and a glass of a local chardonnay. Geelong

Alma
Alma is offering a selection from its South American-style menu, along with individual bottles of some of its signature cocktails (only available when ordered in conjunction with food) to pick up or have home-delivered locally. You’ll need to order at least 30 minutes ahead, and there’s a delivery charge of $15 to help support the restaurant’s casual staff through the lockdown. Tulip Bar & Restaurant
Tulip Bar & Restaurant is also taking orders for contactless takeaways from its ‘Tulip at Home’ menu of food and wine, which you’ll find on its Facebook page. Hamilton

The Hamilton Hamper
The Hamilton Hamper, inspiration for countless great foodie gifts, has closed its café due to the COVID-19 restrictions, but is still open to customers for its great range of local produce, baked goods and ready-to-cook prepared meals. Kyneton

Fook Shing
This popular Asian restaurant is providing takeaway only of food and beverages (including Best’s Great Western Riesling – a perfect match for Fook Shing’s zingy menu). Open Friday, Saturday and Monday, 5pm-8pm; and Sunday, 12pm-3pm and 5pm-8pm. Order in advance via WOWAPPS or phone (03) 5422 6560.

Colenso
Colenso are operating with beautiful @2eatathome weekly menu’s, rich with in season supplies from their local food network. 2eat at home by Colenso is a subscription food service, delivered weekly to the Macedon Ranges and beyond. All orders through www.2eatathome.com.au

Source Dining
Source Dining in Kyneton has become a must visit in the area, owner & head chef Tim Foster developed a passion for food very early on thanks to his grandmother. When creating menus each season, it all starts with the produce they are able to source around them and from their own garden. Now offering a takeaway menu for pre-orders and pick up each Monday between 3pm -6pm. Orders can be emailed info@sourcedining.com.au or texted to 0418 805 108.

Myrniong

The Plough
The Plough in Trentham and Myrniong are closed indefinitely while restrictions are in place, but the good news is that you can now enjoy The Plough @ Your Place. They’ve set up an online ordering service for contactless pick-up at The Plough at Myrniong, or home-delivery (see the website for details of areas covered). Choose from the regular menu, or an assortment of barbecue packs, frozen food and, of course wine and beer. Order online at theplough.com.au/online-store.

Ocean Grove

The Driftwood Café
The Driftwood Café is open daily for breakfast (takeaway only), lunch and dinner (takeaway or delivery). Delivery is free for orders over $40; otherwise there’s a $5 charge. Breakfast is available 8am-12pm; lunch, 11.30am-2.30pm; and dinner, 5.30pm-8pm. You can also order a selection of frozen or chilled ready-made meals at any time. The café now has a special licence, so you can also add a couple of six-packs of beer or a bottle of wine to go. Phone (03) 5255 1832 or head online.

Port Fairy

Conlan’s Wine Store
While its sister restaurant, Hawker Kampong, is closed for normal service for the time being, it’s become the pick-up point for Conlan’s dinners to go, available daily, 5pm-8.30pm. Conlan’s is also offering lunchboxes to pick up from its store Monday-Friday, 11am and 1pm, as well as ready-made meals, pantry items, canapés (for when we’re ready to party again) and, of course, wine! Pre-order the food options online or phone (03) 5568 2582. At the moment, you will need to visit the store to purchase wines.

Gladioli  
Another sister restaurant of Conlan’s, Gladioli has crafted a special dining experience at home. For $75 per person (to a maximum of 6 diners), Gladioli chefs will greet you at your door-step throughout the evening with a progressive 5 course dinner enjoyed in the comfort of your own home.
